Unity In Diversity

The racial harmony carnival Unity In Diversity is back again! The Boon Lay IRCC, together with Boon Lay Grassroots Organisations and students from River Valley High School will be organising the second Unity In Diversity carnival on 27 Sep 2015(Sunday), 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Boon Lay CC. The event themed ‘Together as one Singapore’ reflects the aspiration for a united and cohesive nation, with diverse cultural/religious backgrounds.

Cultural Journey: The Indian Muslims
 
Time: 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM
Venue: Nagore Dargah (Heritage Centre)

Participants will be led on a guided tour of The Indian Muslim Heritage Centre (Nagore Dargah) where the historical origins, royal heirlooms and cultural memorabilia of the Indian Muslim community will be showcased. Participants will then head over to Al-Abrar Mosque, where they will understand more about the key tenets in Islam and its obligatory practices. What better way to end the session than by tucking into a sumptuous communal dining lunch. Join us for this exciting cultural escapade!

Mediation Workshop aims to equip community leaders with direct resolutions and facilitation skills in mediating inter-ethnic conflicts. This workshop will help community leaders in developing new set of practical skills to manage conflicts effectively so as to manage differences between residents. This can help reduce disharmony, tension, misunderstandings and stress in the community and neighbourhoods.
